The Different Lights are one of the best live acts we have heard!
Our wedding celebrations took place at Shrigley Hall Hotel in Cheshire. We had a large wedding with 170 guests to the evening reception so knew we needed a big venue with a band that could get the crowd going!
We wanted a relaxed theme on our wedding day, ensuring everyone felt they could have fun and enjoy the day and night. We went for a bird cage theme with old-fashioned sweets as favours. In the evening it was a sparkling event with LOVE light up letters and a sparkling dancefloor!
We researched music for days on end before choosing The Different Lights, one of Function Central's exclusive North West-based wedding bands. We are so glad we did as music makes up such a big part of the atmosphere at a wedding and how the day unfolds. The Different Lights were absolutely amazing, every guest said how great they were and they played songs that kept the crowd going all night. The band were in touch before the day to confirm set lists and even performed our first dance: 'Talk Tonight' by Oasis, when it wasn't on their repertoire.
We had some problems the evening of the wedding as the fire alarm went off which set the day back by over an hour and a half. The band took it all in their stride and worked tirelessly to get set up ASAP once we could return into the hotel. They were due to finish at 22.30 but stayed until midnight completing the set. I remember dancing to Deacon Blue and looking around at the dance-floor (which was full I might add) to everyone singing along and genuinely enjoying themselves. When they ended we felt like we were at a live concert with the entire room chanting 'One more tune!'
Book these guys without delay as they are one of the best live acts we have heard and just all round great guys. We are wondering if it's too much to have the band at my 30th birthday party just as an excuse to book them again!
Some of our favourite moments of the day were without doubt the church, the anticipation and build up in the morning was amazing.
The band were also a big highlight – they lifted the mood when they came on and got the room up and dancing almost immediately and for that we will always be grateful.
