Jean sings jazz standards with sophistication, creativity and a strikingly emotive tone. She graduated from the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a first class degree in music, has released two original albums and toured the length and breadth of the UK supporting artists and performing in venues such as Hammersmith Apollo and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

Her involvement in traditional jazz has been a more recent and exciting side step. Joining a local quartet as a featured singer sparked a love affair with the works of master songwriters of the twentieth century such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin and a deep love for the voices of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.

Jean’s vocal delivery finds inspiration in the breathless musicality of Fitzgerald and the haunting soulfulness of Holiday.

Jean works with some of the most well respected jazz musicians in the North West who bring a deep knowledge of the genre, scintillating improvisation and intelligent sensitivity to the performance. She is currently enjoying two local residencies and an increasing number of invites to perform at public and private events.
