Hudson had the whole dance-floor full from the start. We couldn't be more grateful to them!
Our wedding ceremony was held at Haddon Hall, a stunning old English country hall in the heart of The Peak District. I arrived at the hall with my bridesmaids by horse and carriage. The hall has a Jane Eyre-like atmosphere, and is actually where some of the film was set!
Our bouquets had white flowers and green foliage with a few blue delphiniums to incorporate the blue of my bridesmaids' dresses.
The reception venue was The Maynard, a boutique Hotel in Grindleford. It's rather Gothic from the outside and is set in beautiful grounds with fantastic views from the front.
The ballroom is just beautiful, and warm, with its own bar, wood panelling around the walls and fantastic chandeliers that give it incredible lighting. The food was brilliant and all the guests were full of compliments. On top of all that the staff were brilliant and really professional and helpful. And the bridal suite... WOW!
We chose Hudson as the live band for our evening reception and what a fantastic decision it was! I found them just by searching for North West wedding bands and found that Function Central had an extensive list of bands. It was Hudson that caught our eye above the others. After scrolling through countless bands online we both felt that we had found a real gem with Hudson.
They were even better on the night than the recordings on the website and they had the whole dance-floor full from the start. We couldn't be more grateful to them and would recommend them to anybody!
We were over the moon and 100% satisfied with Hudson. Book them, you won't be disappointed! Enough said! Some of our favourite moments of the day were dancing to Hudson with family and friends. Watching people dance to common people by Pulp was awesome.
The whole day was spectacular for us though, and some of the other standout moments included getting the horse and carriage to and from Haddon Hall. Walking up the aisle in the Long Gallery was extremely special. Walking in to the ballroom for the first time at The Maynard and seeing the tables beautifully set up and filled with all our family and friends was very exciting!
I would advise other brides and grooms to go with their gut instinct when booking a band. Only book if you are completely happy and don't just go for the cheaper option. I would also suggest having input on the music choices, but make sure there is a variety that will please the wider audience!
