I would say that having a band was one of the most worthwhile purchases of the wedding... Agent Smith really did steal the show
Our wedding took place in the simply stunning Treehouse Restaurant, in Alnwick Gardens, Northumberland.
Being a wedding photographer myself, I wanted a venue to be something completely different to the usual converted barn or stately home, and a Treehouse for 85 guests 100ft in the trees was certainly something different! After seeing some photos on the internet I did not hesitate in booking the venue, I later thought it best to let Tash know...
When we finally made the 5hr drive to visit the venue we knew we had made the right decision, and every one of our guests agreed!
Being a treehouse, the main theme seemed to take care of itself, added with our love of vodka for table decorations and details. We wanted a relaxed wedding, and didn’t want too long of a day so went for a late 3pm start. 85 friends and family joined us for a short fairy light/candle lit ceremony, and we were keen to create a party atmosphere in the evening.
A friend of ours (and very talented singer) Alice Dobell sang for us during the day, covering our favorite musicals.
For the evening we were keen to create a real party atmosphere. We wanted people on the dance floor for as long as possible, and were keen to pick a band who could interact with the crowd, and help give our guests a night to remember. After about 3 weeks of searching and about 85 wedding bands later we picked Agent Smith as our wedding band.
Obviously getting married to the absolute love of my life has to be my favourite moment, but Agent Smith really did steal the show in the evening. The whole day was everything we had hoped for and more, from the very start until the end, and shortly after the wedding we received a video of the whole day which my best man secretly filmed on his phone! it was an amazing surprise!
Function Central have been great throughout the whole booking, very quick to respond to requests and provided plenty of help when picking a band. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that asks.
I would say that having a band was one of the most worthwhile purchases of the wedding. We could have had a DJ, but really wanted to create that party atmosphere and make sure everyone was out of their seats and dancing and enjoying the day until the very end. It certainly worked for us as everyone loved it, and it really was the wedding of the year... even though it was just the 7th of Jan!
