We held our wedding at Keston Village Hall in Keston, Kent. It is local, large, beautiful, affordable and you can celebrate your wedding how you want to!
We went for a village fete vibe, with bunting and lots of fresh spring flowers in jam jars. Lots of DIY decoration and handmade details.
Live music as well as a professional photographer were something we were willing to splash out on. We felt a live band makes the night feel a lot more special for the guests. We chose the band because they had a cool 1950's take on contemporary music, and a great playlist.
My favourite part of the day was actually getting married! The amazing speeches, especially the hilarious one my 'best women' did, complete with song accompanied on ukulele, a Harry Potter spell and props! Dancing the night away with my dad and oldest best friends was also a highlight!
While searching through google, I thought Function Central had the best most varied range at very competitive prices.
Function Central have an amazingly diverse range of bands to choose from and were really helpful. We went for The Sweet & Lowdown as they were something different from the normal wedding band (not too cheesy!!). They were really lovely and played a range of songs to suit all tastes, then after a break adapted to the younger people's taste! We had them to the end of the night and my dad stole the show with his dance moves!
My advice to other couples? Give yourself plenty of time to book things in advance. Make the wedding the day you want - what is important to you? And enjoy it!
Suppliers:
Photographer: Helen Warner Photography. Helen is lovely, easy to talk to and was brilliant seeing as myself and my husband are camera shy! Also so discreet when taking photos of the evenings events. The photos are beautiful, and we'll treasure them.
Dress: Minna Bridal for my top, I made the skirt. Minna Bridal have really beautiful and really different dresses and separates. The fabrics and laces they use are amazing, and the location of the showroom is kinda magical.
Cake: Crumbs & Doilies. Not a traditional wedding cake but it looked amazing and was demolished by our guests!
Transport: Shirley Chauffeurs. My dad booked the vintage Morris Minor and it was so much fun!
Catering & Bar: Fiona's Pantry. Fiona is great and will really listen to what you want for your wedding. Everyone has said how good the food was, they even went back for seconds, there was nothing left!
