We had a large church ceremony and for the reception numbers were reduced to enable us to host our wedding reception at our favourite restaurant. For the reception we chose the Old Passage in Arlingham, Gloucestershire for its fantastic food, location and the memories we'd created there.
We knew we wanted live music but the venue was short on space, even with a marquee, so we decided to book an acoustic performer. We searched for bands in Gloucestershire and the South West and stumbled upon The Wild Nights Duo. We never wanted background music – we wanted the music to follow the meal and get our guests up and dancing. We needed an artist with a range of music from several decades.
The Wild Nights Duo fitted all of our criteria for the evening: type of music, range of music, price and availability. I couldn't have asked for a better band. My favourite moment was when I was at the bar on their third or fourth song and one of my friends come running up to me saying "leave your drinks, these guys are f****** brilliant" before literally dragging me into the marquee!
I love the fact that the guys interacted with my four-year-old daughter who was dancing her heart out. They even asked if she had a favourite song that they could play. This was ruined when her mum requested Jessie J.
Words of the day: Live music wins.
